Expiration of points
Omniwallet incorporates a block point expiration system, designed to simplify management, improve communication with the customer, and maintain economic control of the loyalty program.
Unlike other systems where each point has its own individual expiration date, in Omniwallet points do not expire in isolation based on when they are earned. Instead, all points from all users expire simultaneously in previously defined natural periods.
The platform allows for the configuration of point expiration according to different cycles:
-
Monthly: all points expire on the last day of each month.
-
Quarterly: all points expire at the end of March, June, September, and December.
-
Annually: all points expire on December 31.
This approach brings several key advantages:
-
Greatly simplifies the program's logic.
-
Facilitates clear and transparent communication with the customer.
-
Allows for the creation of urgency and activation campaigns before each expiration.
-
Prevents confusion about individual expiration dates.
Exceptions by user level
The expiration system is integrated with user levels, allowing for the definition of exclusive benefits for the most loyal customers.
It is possible, for example:
-
To exclude certain levels from point expiration.
-
To offer no point expiration to premium levels (such as Gold, Platinum, etc.).
-
To apply expiration only to certain profiles and not to the entire customer base.
In this way, expiration ceases to be just a control mechanism and becomes a loyalty tool, incentivizing level progression and rewarding recurrence and long-term value.
A clear, predictable, and actionable system
Thanks to this model, the brand can:
-
Plan specific campaigns before each expiration date.
-
Activate automated communications reminding about point expiration.
-
Adjust its economic strategy without technical complexity.
-
Offer a more understandable and fair loyalty experience for the user.
The result is a point expiration system easy to manage, simple to explain, and strategically powerful, reinforcing both customer activation and the perceived value of the higher levels of the program.
